Christina Knapp

Outreach Specialist (Alive in Christ)

From years ago, when Miss Almeta served Everybody Eats at Everett's Restaurant, Chris baked desserts as part of her church's efforts to help.  When we lost Miss Almeta, Chris showed up with the community to see how we could keep her vision alive.  Chris and her church, Alive in Christ Lutheran Church, were tasked with providing the desserts for Everybody Eats, hot meal deliveries and the main event.  Members of Alive in Christ take great joy in helping with this community meal and helping to ensure that Everyone can enjoy a Thanksgiving Meal.

At Alive in Christ, Chris also leads Women's Ministries, helping to lead Bible Studies and Retreats.  She has a heart to see women healed, discover who they are in Christ and to walk in His calling for their lives.  She is a founder of, serves on the Core Planning Team for, and participates in the AIC Truthseeker's Camp, a 2-1/2 day camp for 4th and 5th graders each summer.

After praying the daunting prayer of "Break my heart for what breaks yours", God led Chris to the orphan crisis of Zambia.  Due to AIDS and extreme poverty, half the nation's population is 16 years old and younger, three-quarters of the nation is 25 years old and younger.  It is a nation of children who struggle with how to overcome.  Through Family Legacy International, Chris has traveled to Lusaka, Zambia, twice, to participate in Camp Life.  This is a mission trip that allows for every American who goes, 10 orphaned or vulnerable children to come to camp to hear the Gospel and the message of how much they are seen and loved by our Heavenly Father.  Camp Life becomes a vehicle for finding sponsors that allow these children to attend  a Christian private school operated by Family Legacy with an excellent education by well-trained Zambian teachers, a highly-nutritious hot meal and discipleship to minister to their emotional and spiritual needs.  The most at-risk children are moved to the Tree of Life Children's Village with the same quality educational experience, but in the safety of homes with Zambian house moms and a community that is full of love and healing.

Chris is a mother of 4 adult children and a daughter-in-law.  Michael, Ben and Chrissy, Megan and Joseph.   Chris and Roy just celebrated 35 years of marriage and love when everyone  comes home and the house is full.  The rest of her time is spent designing homes for her clients through her business, Knapp Drafting and Design.  And working for MU Healthcare on the Architectural Team for Planning, Design and Construction.
